Peinture d’Australie – Art Aborigène

Winnie paints the stories of her mother’s country which includes Lupulnga, Kaakuratintja and Lampintja which lies on the southern edge of Lake Macdonald. The subject matter includes Mangarri (bush damper) Kungka Tjuta (many women) and K. (Quoll dreaming).

In this particular painting, the artist is depicting the topography of her country, she called the painting « Tali Tjuta » which translated means many sand hills. Being able to navigate through the sand hills to find water and food was paramount to the survival of the tribal group.
